Hawkins Road Transport was established in 1921 by Bartholomew and Rosina Hawkins and
was the first carrier to run in opposition to the rail in Brisbane.
Today, the fourth generation of the Hawkins family owns the business and it is operated by a professional management team and Board of Directors, with the Chief Executive Officer being Roz Shaw the youngest member of the fourth generation.
We are a privately-owned Queensland business with operations in Brisbane, Gladstone, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns, Richmond, Cloncurry and Mount Isa.
The Hawkins Family also owns Moreton Island Adventures, a vehicular ferry business that transports four wheel drives, passengers and freight to Moreton Island and now boasts the largest and most modern ferry in Moreton Bay, the MiCat, which carries 52 four wheel drives and up to 600 passengers.
The latest addition in the Hawkins Family Group is our truck stop business. We operate the Caltex truck stop at the Port of Brisbane which is a 24 hour site with large restaurant and a purpose built truck wash facility. We also own a truck stop and fuel depot at Richmond in North Queensland which services farmers with bulk fuel and lubricants.
Our company has the advantage of hands-on experience and the availability of management. In addition, our professional management team and Board of Directors now ensures our business is planning for the future.
Our success is a result of our “Can Do” attitude and a dedication to serving our customers 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
