Hawkins Road Transport

Hawkins Road Transport was established in 1921, being the first transport company to run in opposition to the railways in Brisbane. The humble beginnings came in the form of a small service station in Ipswich and from there a transport company was born carrying Mobil drums of fuel from Brisbane to Ipswich.

Today, Hawkins operates fuel tankers throughout Queensland, transporting bulk liquids in vehicles from rigid body trucks to triple road trains. All vehicles are company owned and all our drivers are company employed.

Hawkins is an accredited carrier for Shell, Caltex and BP and has been carrying for these companies for many years. Hawkins was awarded the Shell Health, Safety, Security and Environment Awards for 2007 and 2008. In 2009, we were awarded a portion of the BMA contract for Caltex, the largest fuel transport contract in the history of the Bowen Basin.

Safety is a priority at Hawkins. We operate complete satellite tracking with daily non conformance reporting on speed, cornering, braking and fatigue regulations. We operate under maintenance management and basic fatigue management, all under NHVAS Accreditation.

The Hawkins Group also operates truckstops. The largest of these is the Caltex Port of Brisbane, the only truckstop at this Port. In addition, Hawkins operates Moreton Island Adventures, a tourism business with ferries, tours and accommodation servicing Moreton Island .

Our business has grown throughout the years mostly through word of mouth. This is a testament to our most important goal – Complete Customer Service. It has always been our aim to deliver more than we promise in order to provide our customers with…

Simply Excellent Service!
